This is the grave of Abu Ubayda Amir ibn al-Jarrah, one of the ten promised Paradise, known by the title Amin al-Umma. He led the Muslim armies in the conquest of al-Sham and passed away in the plague of Amwas in 18 AH (639). His grave lies in a large complex built by the Royal Committee in the Jordan Valley near Deir Alla, with a mosque, library, Islamic centre and gardens. It is one of the most visited Companions' shrines in Jordan.
