About Mehmed Pasha Kukavica Masjid, Foča

This mosque and madrasa were built in the 1750s by Mehmed Pasha Kukavica, a native of Foča who rose to govern Bosnia, as part of a generous endowment that also gave the town its clock tower. The complex stood in the upper bazaar of Foča. The mosque was destroyed in 1992, and its ruined walls still stand as a reminder of the town's lost heritage. The site is a short walk from the Mehmed Pasha Kukavica clock tower and the Aladža Masjid.
