This mosque stands in the heritage village of al-Atawlah, about 30 km north of al-Bahah on the road to Taif. It was for a long time the only mosque in the area where the Friday prayer was held, drawing people from neighbouring villages, and it also served as the place where the villagers met to discuss their affairs. Built of rough stone and roofed with juniper trunks in the Sarat style, it has a prayer hall and an open courtyard. It was restored in the first phase of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques, launched in 2018, and now holds about 130 worshippers.
