The Minar-e-Pakistan is a national monument built between 1960 and 1968 at the place where the Lahore Resolution was passed on 23 March 1940. It was designed by the architect Nasreddin Murat-Khan, and its base rises in the form of an opening flower. The tower stands in the middle of Greater Iqbal Park, just north of the Badshahi Mosque and the Lahore Fort. The park has gardens, walkways and fountains and is busy in the evenings, especially at weekends. The tomb of Hafeez Jalandhari is a short walk away.
