Souq al-Safafir is the coppersmiths' market of old Baghdad, one of the oldest working markets in the city, where craftsmen have hammered copper pots, trays and coffee pots for generations. The market's lanes run from Rashid Street, opposite the Mirjan mosque, towards the Mustansiriya and the Tigris. A few workshops still ring with hammering, alongside shops selling copperware, carpets and textiles.
