Al-Qadi Mosque in the Bir al-Azab quarter of Sana'a was commissioned by the judge Ali ibn Hasan al-Akwa', from one of the city's leading families of scholars and judges. The mosque has a tall decorated minaret and stands among the garden houses of Bir al-Azab, west of the Old City.
