The Museum of Popular Heritage is housed in Dar al-Shukr, a tower palace built in 1933 on Tahrir Square in Sana'a that was the residence of Prince Hasan ibn Yahya Hamid al-Din. Its galleries show the traditional life of Yemen: wedding customs and costume, jewellery, household tools, musical instruments, agriculture and crafts. It stands beside Qubbat al-Mutawakkil and the National Museum.
