The Suwayda National Museum presents the archaeology of Jabal al-Arab and the southern Hawran, and is best known for its Roman mosaics from Shahba, among the finest in Syria, together with basalt sculpture and finds from the region's ancient towns. The museum stands in the city of Suwayda, a short drive from the ruins of Shahba and Qanawat and from the Salkhad citadel.
