Sayyiduna Huri is the Arabic name of the ancient city of Cyrrhus in the Afrin region north-west of Aleppo, taken from the shrine of Sayyiduna Huri beside it. Local tradition identifies Huri with Uriah, a commander in the army of Prophet Dawud. The shrine occupies a hexagonal Roman tomb, and an Ottoman mosque was built next to it. The ruins of Cyrrhus nearby include a theatre, city walls and old bridges over the Sabun river, set among green hills and orchards.
