About Bab Kisan

Bab Kisan is one of the historic gates in the south-eastern wall of Old Damascus. Nur al-Din Zangi had it walled up, and the Mamluks rebuilt it in 765 AH (1364). Today the gate houses the Chapel of St Paul, built into its structure. The gate stands on the road that follows the old walls south of Bab Sharqi, a short walk from the Bab Sharqi gate and the Christian quarter of the old city.
