Tabuk was one of the main stations on the Ottoman Hejaz Railway, which linked Damascus with Madinah from 1908 and carried pilgrims to the Haram in days rather than weeks. The station buildings have been restored as a small museum. Displays include an old locomotive and carriages, photographs and panels on the route of the railway through northern Arabia. Entry is free, and it is closed on Fridays and Saturdays.
