This historic tower stands at Rabigh, near al-Juhfah, the miqat where pilgrims from Egypt and Syria entered ihram. Rabigh was a station of the coastal pilgrim road between Madinah and Makkah. The tower stands in the old part of Rabigh, a short drive from the Miqat of al-Juhfah. It is one of the sites of the Egyptian Hajj Road, which Saudi Arabia has placed on UNESCO's Tentative List.
