About Miqat of Yalamlam

Yalamlam is the miqat set by Nabi Muhammad ﷺ for the people of Yemen and those approaching Makkah from the south. In past centuries it also served pilgrims arriving by sea from India and South-East Asia, who would enter ihram as their ships passed its latitude. The miqat lies about a hundred kilometres south of Makkah, at the place now called al-Sa'diyyah, where a mosque provides facilities for pilgrims to change and enter ihram. Pilgrims flying into Jeddah from the south often pass this boundary in the air and enter ihram before landing.
