About Masjid al-Mash'ar al-Haram (Muzdalifah)

Al-Mash'ar al-Haram is the sacred landmark in Muzdalifah, traditionally identified with the hill of Quzah. On the Farewell Hajj, after praying Fajr at Muzdalifah, Nabi Muhammad ﷺ came here and stood facing the qibla in remembrance and supplication until the sky had grown bright, before moving on to Mina. The large mosque built at the spot has two tall minarets and is a landmark for pilgrims spending the night at Muzdalifah. It is busiest at dawn on the tenth of Dhul Hijjah, when many pilgrims try to pray Fajr here as the Prophet ﷺ did.
