Safwan ibn Umayyah of the clan of Jumah was one of the wealthiest men of Quraysh, known for his generosity and his fine speech. After the conquest of Makkah the Prophet ﷺ gave him safety and time to consider Islam, and borrowed from him armour and weapons for the Battle of Hunayn, in which Safwan took part. He accepted Islam soon afterwards. His house stood south-west of Masjid al-Haram. Nothing of it survives, and its site lies about 350 metres south-west of the Ka'bah.
