This is the shrine of Sayyid Miran Husayn Zanjani, one of the earliest Sufis of Lahore and often called its elder saint. He came to the city from Zanjan in Iran and passed away in 1042. Lahore tradition holds that Ali al-Hujwiri, Data Ganj Bakhsh, arrived in the city on the very day of his passing, and the two are remembered as belonging to the same family of Sayyids. The shrine stands in the busy Chah Miran quarter north-east of the Walled City and is administered by Punjab Auqaf. Inside, the grave sits within a decorated enclosure, and a spot in the shrine is marked as the place where Khwaja Muin al-Din Chishti of Ajmer prayed during his time in Lahore. The shrine of Ghoray Shah is a short walk away.
