This mosque was built in 1635 by Dai Anga, the wet nurse of the emperor Shah Jahan, before she left for the Hajj. Dai Anga was much respected at court and endowed several buildings in Lahore, and her tomb in Gulabi Bagh is a short drive to the east. The mosque stands just south-east of Lahore Railway Station. Its facade keeps its panels of glazed tile mosaic and painted decoration, while the interior has been renovated in a modern style. It is an active mosque with a small pool in its courtyard.
