Unayza Castle is an Ottoman fort on the Syrian Hajj road north of Ma'an, one of the stations where pilgrims' caravans stopped on the way to Makkah. It guarded the water cisterns that served the caravans at this stage of the journey. The fort stands in open country close to the Desert Highway and the line of the Hejaz Railway.
