This ancient pistachio tree in the desert near Safawi is remembered as the tree under which the Prophet ﷺ rested as a boy, when he travelled to al-Sham with the caravan of his uncle Abu Talib and was recognised by the monk Bahira. It stands alone on the old caravan route and is on the Royal Committee's list. The tree is the only one of its size for many kilometres around, and it is fenced and cared for. It lies in the eastern desert of Mafraq, reached by road from Safawi.
