This courtyard house on the slope of Tell Irbid was the family home of Mustafa Wahbi al-Tal, Jordan's best-loved poet, known by his pen name Arar. His father built it in 1888 in the style of the old houses of Damascus, and it was enlarged in 1905. It is now a cultural house with a small display on the poet's life. It stands next to Dar al-Saraya in the old centre of Irbid.
