This shrine in the Mahawil district north of Hillah is honoured as the grave of Sayyid Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn al-Qasim ibn Hamza, a descendant of Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas ibn Ali through al-Hasan ibn Ubayd Allah. Known for his frequent prostration, he was given the titles Zayn al-Abidin and al-Sajjad, and locally he is called Sab' al-Mahawil, the Lion of Mahawil. It stands in the village that bears his name, in the al-Imam subdistrict, and is one of the most visited shrines in northern Babylon Governorate. On the birthdays and anniversaries of the Ahl al-Bayt, visitors gather here and food and drink are given out to those who come.
