Sidi Dawud ibn Umar ibn Bakhila, Abu Sulayman al-Iskandari, was a Shadhili shaykh of Alexandria in the generation after Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi and a Maliki jurist. He is remembered for al-Latifa al-Mardiyya, his commentary on the litany of the Shadhili way. He is buried in his small mosque on al-Hajjari Street in Bahari, a short walk from Midan al-Masajid, where his tomb lies under a green cover.
