Gallery 11/07/95 is named after the date in July 1995 when Srebrenica fell, after which more than 8,000 Bosniak men and boys were killed in the genocide that followed. Opened in 2012 in the centre of Sarajevo, it was the first memorial gallery in Bosnia and Herzegovina devoted to these events. The exhibition brings together photographs, video, documents and personal testimony, with an audio guide that tells the stories of victims and survivors. A second section covers the siege of Sarajevo. Visitors should allow at least an hour, and many find it a sobering preparation for a visit to the memorial and graveyard at Potočari.
