This museum was founded in 2016 by survivors of the 1992-95 war to record the crimes committed against civilians in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It stands in the old town near Baščaršija. Its rooms hold personal belongings, diaries, letters and testimonies, along with reconstructions of detention camps and mass graves, set out to show what ordinary people lived through. The content is direct and often distressing, so it is not suitable for young children, but it gives a powerful sense of why remembrance matters so much in Bosnia today.
