Masjid al-Fadikh stood east of Quba, in the lands of Banu al-Nadir. Nabi Muhammad ﷺ prayed here during the siege of Banu al-Nadir in 4 AH. According to the early historians of Madinah, the mosque took its name from fadikh, a drink made from dates, because a group of the Ansar were drinking it here when the prohibition of wine was announced, and they poured it away. It was also known as Masjid al-Shams. The old mosque is no longer standing, and the plot is marked as a historical site among the farms and houses of the al-Awali district. It lies a short drive east of Masjid Quba, not far from the remains of the fort of Ka'b ibn al-Ashraf.
