Masjid al-Safa stands in the centre of Baljurashi, about 27 km from al-Bahah, and is counted as the oldest mosque of the al-Bahah region. Its first building, raised more than 1,350 years ago, is attributed to the Companion Sufyan ibn Awf al-Ghamidi. It is a small stone mosque of about 78 square metres, and in the past the villagers gathered here between Maghrib and Isha to discuss their affairs and settle disputes. It was restored in the second phase of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques.
