Abdullah ibn Umar, the son of Umar ibn al-Khattab, accepted Islam as a boy and emigrated to Madinah with his father. He became one of the most devoted followers of the Sunnah among the Companions, taking care to pray where Nabi Muhammad ﷺ had prayed and to stop where he had stopped, and he is one of the great narrators among the Companions. He kept away from the civil strife of his time and lived a simple life of worship. He passed away in Makkah in 73 AH and was buried at Fakh, on the northern side of the city, where this grave is visited. Many visitors stop here to remember one of the most scrupulous of the Companions.
