Bayt al-Ahzan, the House of Sorrows, is the place in al-Baqi' where Sayyida Fatimah al-Zahra is said to have come to mourn her father ﷺ in the months after his passing. Tradition holds that Sayyiduna Ali made a shelter for her here, near the house of Aqil, and a small mosque later stood on the spot, described by visitors to Madinah in Ottoman times. No building stands today. The site lies a short way south-east of the enclosure of the family of Nabi Muhammad ﷺ near the entrance of al-Baqi'.
