Abu Sufyan Sakhr ibn Harb of the Banu Umayyah was one of the leaders of Quraysh in Makkah and the father of Umm Habibah, one of the Mothers of the Believers, and of Mu'awiyah. He accepted Islam at the conquest of Makkah in 8 AH and went out with the Muslims to Hunayn and Ta'if. He died in Madinah in 31 AH, during the caliphate of Uthman. His grave is shown near the entrance of al-Baqi', close to the graves of Aqil ibn Abi Talib and the Mothers of the Believers. Like the other graves of al-Baqi', it is level with the ground and marked only by low stones.
