Shah Muhammad Ghaus was a Qadiri saint born in Peshawar in 1084 AH (1673) who settled in Lahore and died there in 1152 AH (1739). He was a scholar and teacher whose family traced its descent to Shaykh Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani. His shrine stands on Circular Road outside the Walled City, between Delhi Gate and Akbari Gate. The grave is inside a tiled shrine within a courtyard surrounded by arcades, with a mosque attached.
