Chitta Gate, the White Gate, was built in 1650 in the reign of Shah Jahan and takes its name from the white lime plaster that once covered its façade. It stands at the eastern end of Wazir Khan Chowk, between the Shahi Hammam and the Wazir Khan Mosque. The gate lies on the Shahi Guzargah, the royal route from Delhi Gate to the Lahore Fort, and walkers pass through it on the way from the Shahi Hammam to the square in front of the mosque.
