The Tower of Belén, or Bethlehem, is one of the defensive towers of Córdoba's walls, standing in the San Basilio quarter near the Alcázar. It is square, about 7.4 metres on each side, and had two entrances: an outer door to the north with a pointed horseshoe arch and an inner door to the east. In the fifteenth century it was converted to house a small chapel of Our Lady of Bethlehem, which gave it its name. It was thoroughly restored in 1999 and stands on Calle Martín de Roa, among the whitewashed streets of San Basilio that are known for their flower-filled patios.
