The Baths of Santa María are one of the few public bathhouses of Muslim Córdoba to survive, standing a short walk east of the Great Mosque. They were built in the caliphal period and remade in the fourteenth century by Mudéjar builders, and they stayed in use for some time after the Castilian conquest before being turned into a house. Three vaulted rooms and the cistern survive. The warm room is now a square patio with galleries of horseshoe arches on eight columns, most with caliphal capitals, under vaults pierced by skylights, and the hot room keeps its stone barrel vault and the arches of its two pools. Since 2021 the baths have been open to visitors during the day, and in the evening the space is used as a restaurant.
