The Arco del Portillo, also called the Arch of San Francisco or the Portillo del Corbache, is an opening made at the end of the fourteenth century in the eastern stretch of wall that divided the Villa, the old medina, from the Axerquía, the eastern quarter of the city. Its pointed arch frames a passage between the quarter of the Great Mosque and the San Francisco and Ribera district, and it stands on Calle San Fernando opposite the church of San Francisco. It has been a protected monument since 1931.
