The Mezquita de los Andaluces is a small working mosque in Calleja de la Hoguera, in the old Jewish quarter a short walk from the Great Mosque. It occupies an old building of the Andalusi period that from 1994 to 2001 housed the Averroes International Islamic University, and after restoration it reopened as a place of prayer. The mosque has an entrance courtyard, a prayer hall, a room for wudu and a small minaret crowned with five spheres and a crescent. It is one of the few places in the historic centre where Muslims gather for the daily prayers, but space is limited and opening hours vary, so it is best to arrive shortly before a prayer.
