Shaykh Muhammad ibn Hasan al-Samanudi, known as al-Munayyir, was a scholar whose thabat, the record of the teachers and chains of transmission through which he received his learning, survives in manuscript. His grave lies in the old city west of al-Muizz Street, near Port Said Street, about 70 metres from the Ottoman mosque of Murad Pasha and close to the mosque of Qadi Yahya on al-Azhar Street.
