This small zawiya was built in 830 AH (1426–27) by Fayruz al-Saqi, a court official who had served Sultan al-Mu'ayyad Shaykh; his title al-saqi means the cupbearer. The building joins a small mosque to his tomb and is registered among the Circassian Mamluk monuments of Cairo. It stands in the old lanes between Bab al-Khalq and Bab Zuwayla, a short walk from the mosques of Aqsunqur al-Fariqani and Asanbugha and the tomb of Husam al-Din Turuntay.
