Masjid al-Hanafi stands in Souq al-Nada in Harat al-Sham, Historic Jeddah. A stone at its door dates it to 1340 AH (around 1921), and it was long one of the best attended mosques of the old town, where King Abdulaziz performed the Friday prayer when he stayed in Jeddah. It has a single stone minaret, three doors and a large prayer courtyard with a tall wooden minbar used for sermons and the Eid takbirat. Its east side faces al-Dhahab Street, close to Nasseef House and the other old mosques of al-Balad.
