Bab al-Atiq, the Old Gate, was a small gate on the western side of Masjid al-Haram, also called the gate of Amr ibn al-As, whose house stood on this side, and Bab al-Suddah. It had a single small door and fifteen steps down to the floor of the mosque. The gate was removed when Masjid al-Haram was enlarged in the twentieth century. Its site lies inside the present mosque, about 80 metres west of the Ka'bah.
