Masjid Sadaqat al-Zubayr stands in the al-Shuraybat district on the eastern side of Madinah, at the edge of the eastern harrah, the lava field that borders the city. Its name, the endowment of al-Zubayr, recalls the land here that belonged to al-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam, the cousin of Nabi Muhammad ﷺ and one of the ten given the glad tidings of Paradise. The place is associated with the dispute between al-Zubayr and a man of the Ansar over watering their palms from a channel of the harrah, which the Prophet ﷺ settled. The mosque is a small, old building of rough stone with arched doorways, set among palms in a quiet residential street. It can be visited together with the historic wells and gardens on the eastern side of the city.
