This old mosque stands beside the spring of Ayn Ali in old Khaybar, among the palm groves below the forts that Nabi Muhammad ﷺ and the Muslims besieged in 7 AH. Both the spring and the mosque carry the name of Sayyiduna Ali ibn Abi Talib, to whom the Prophet ﷺ gave the banner on the day Khaybar was conquered. The mosque is a small stone building in the old quarter, close to the Fort of al-Qamus and the battle site. Its upkeep is modest, and it is best visited together with the forts and the old town of Khaybar.
