About Masjid al-Mustarah (Resting Place after Uhud)

Masjid al-Mustarah, the Mosque of Rest, was the mosque of the Ansari clan of Banu Harithah. On his way back from Uhud in 3 AH, Nabi Muhammad ﷺ stopped here to rest with his wounded Companions before returning to the city, and the place took its name from that pause. The mosque was rebuilt in recent decades and stands on Sayyid al-Shuhada Road, between the city and Mount Uhud. It is open at prayer times and is often visited on the way to or from Uhud.
