Kaki Palace was built for the al-Kaki family, notables of Taif, and completed in 1939 by the builder Muhammad ibn Uthman al-Qurashi. Its three floors combine columns and arched marble windows in a European manner with local Hijazi building traditions, and it had around 40 rooms, an orchard and a well. The palace stands in al-Salamah in the centre of Taif, close to the Grave of Abdullah ibn Abbas. It was later let to summer visitors and is now closed, so it can be admired only from outside.
