Al-Yusufiyya, also called the Bab al-Asbat Graveyard, is a Muslim cemetery just outside Jerusalem's Lions' Gate, Bab al-Asbat. It dates back to the Ayyubid period, after Salahuddin recovered the city, and Jerusalem's Muslim families have buried their dead here for centuries. The graves lie along the outside of the old city wall north of the gate, looking across the valley to the Mount of Olives. The Bab al-Rahmah Graveyard, with the graves of the Companions Ubada ibn al-Samit and Shaddad ibn Aws, runs south from the gate along the eastern wall of Masjid al-Aqsa.
