Shah Alam Market is the great wholesale market of the Walled City of Lahore, built up around the site of Shah Alami Gate, which was named after the Mughal emperor Shah Alam (Bahadur Shah I). It is one of the busiest trading areas in Pakistan, selling household goods, cosmetics, clocks, lighting, fabrics and almost everything else at wholesale prices. The market is very crowded, especially in the afternoons and before Eid.
