Rang Mahal is the commercial heart of the Walled City, the chowk where several of its oldest bazaars meet. The Suha or Sarafa Bazaar, Lahore's gold market with more than five hundred shops, opens from it, along with Kinari Bazaar, known for wedding embroidery, Kasera Bazaar and others. The market streets run from Kashmiri Bazaar through Kasera Bazaar to Rang Mahal and on towards Shah Alami. The grave of Malik Ayaz stands at Rang Mahal, and the Sunehri Mosque and Wazir Khan Mosque are a short walk east.
