About Tell al-Dhiba'i

Tell al-Dhiba'i is the mound of a small Old Babylonian town in New Baghdad, thought to be ancient Uzarlulu, which belonged to the kingdom of Eshnunna. It was lived in mainly between about 2000 and 1600 BC, in the Isin-Larsa and Old Babylonian periods. Iraqi archaeologists excavated it in 1947, 1962 and 1982–84, uncovering houses, cylinder seals, a coppersmith's workshop with its tools, and clay tablets that include some of the best-known mathematical texts of ancient Mesopotamia. It lies about 3 kilometres from Tell Harmal, a site of the same kind.
