The Shurbaji Mosque was built in the eighteenth century by Abd al-Baqi al-Shurbaji in the Ottoman manner of Alexandria, with its prayer hall raised above the shops of the street. It is a registered monument and one of the few Ottoman mosques left in the city. Its long upper gallery of arches looks down over the busy market of Souq al-Tork in Mansheya, a short walk from the Terbana Mosque and the Shaykh Ibrahim Pasha Mosque.
