The Qasaba of Radwan Bey is a covered market street built around 1650 by Radwan Bey, the Ottoman amir who led the Egyptian pilgrimage caravan for many years. It is the only historic covered market street left in Cairo. Today it is the Street of the Tentmakers, al-Khayamiya, where craftsmen sew the bright appliqué textiles used for tents and wall hangings. It begins just south of Bab Zuwayla.
