About Al-Mutawalli Mosque

The Mutawalli Mosque is the largest and oldest great mosque of Mahalla al-Kubra. It was built in 813 AH in the Mamluk period and restored under the Ottomans. It is a registered monument, and the antiquities authority restored it again in 1995. It stands in the old al-Mutawalli quarter in the centre of the city.
